    Eric Beard is a Boston based fitness professional, sports massage therapist, and former strength coach with over 20 years experience. He is passionate about helping his clients, patients and athletes reach their full potential and stay out of pain. Over the years Eric has had the opportunity to work with Olympic and professional athletes, national champions, high school athletes, as well as children and adults who just want to move well and stay strong. Eric has spent time on the WTA tennis circuit traveling as a physio and strength coach for a Women's Grand Slam Champion and top 20 player.

    In this episode we discuss his unique perspective on the value of an athlete having a more interconnected health team supporting them and the difficulties faced by the everyday athlete when seeking to form their own support teams.

  • Dr. David Friedman | How to Increase Long Distance Running Performance

    Dr. David Friedman is an an expert coach, with over 15 years experience training athletes at all levels, and holds a Doctorate in Health Science (DHSc) and a Masters in exercise science. Along with professional certifications from the American College and National Academy of Sports medicine. He has extensive knowledge in running mechanics, kinesiology, exercise physiology, sport psychology, and nutrition. He also happens to be an experienced triathlete, having completed several triathlons, including an Ironman. (he mentions running 12 in a year!)
     

    David has a very genuine passion for coaching and firmly believes the guidance he gives to each of his clients should be supported by science.
     

    In this episode we get into the scientific studies and his own research on the benefits of complex training for long distance running .  More specifically, How it enhances muscular endurance resulting in improved running economy, how it can be implemented into your own routine and how its ultimately a more efficient way to train for an event like a triathlon or marathon.

  • John Ryan | Former Pro Athlete, Army Veteran, Ultra Runner, Business Executive

    John Ryan is most likely not a former pro athlete you’ve ever heard of, but a serious everyday athlete well worth getting to know. He was a two sport standout (soccer & lacrosse) D1 Athlete at Army, before serving and receiving a bronze star. His brief stint as a professional athlete was with the Long Island Lizards of the Major League Lacrosse (now the PLL). That pro experience may be behind him, but he continues to play competitive lacrosse, even serving as team captain for Irelands National Team at the World Lacrosse Championships, while also training for ultra running events.

    Despite taking on more responsibility with a growing family and a business career taking off, John's found a unique way to balance it all, while still satisfying his competitive spirit and pushing his physical limits. In this episode, he reflects on his time in the military and provides insights into his approach to prioritizing an active lifestyle without limiting himself at work or at home.
