Between BG3 winning GOTY and the multiple layoffs in the industry, a lot of good things happened in 2023, and a lot of bad things happened. Here are some of my thoughts on how the year went down.

Nostalgia in games is a tricky one. There's nothing wrong with having favourite childhood games, but knowing when to put the nostalgia to one side and focus on the present is also important. In this episode, I cover the main ways nostalgia can show, some ways to get around it, and the most common marketing tactics used that target our love of retro games.

TL;DR: I'm going to keep "Minecraft" in my YouTube titles :) I didn't mention servers at all in this — and a lot of the discussion is focused on just servers.
