Pierre owns Rainbow, a company who has created a certified biodegradable tree shelter. These shelters are made from wood fibres from UK trees and biodegrade after a few years, meaning that carbon is greatly reduced on schemes that use them as there is no return to remove the shelters. It is also safer for teams as less exposure to high risk environments and they are much nicer to look at than their plastic counterparts.

Marian is a member of the Chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and has an MSc in environmental management. She has over 10 years of senior management experience in mineral extractives as well as significant experience in developing and delivering major projects within Network Rail. In 2016 Marian was promoted to Heidelberg Materials UK’s senior executive team where she provides strategic advice in relation to sustainability, corporate governance and the leadership required to ensure the business achieves its 2030 sustainability commitments. In addition to advocating the implementation of Heidelberg Materials UK’s health and wellness strategy, she is also helping to drive its path towards cement carbon neutrality, fuel switching, hydrogen use and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
