Wild horses have been part of our American heritage for hundreds, even thousands of years. Help us get them to their FOREVER home in Critical Wilderness areas.

Extensively published scientific studies show that this collapsed herbivore (loss of large herbivores) results in abnormally excessive grass and brush wildfire fuels. The same published scientific research shows that on every continent, when the herbivory collapsed, catastrophic wildfires evolved. (See our 'Resources' page for links to the published science)

Wild Horse Fire Brigade is the name of our nonprofit and also that of our Nature-Based solution for the plight of American wild horses. In its essence the Plan is very simple; rewild and relocate wild horses away-from areas of conflict and confinement and locate them into wilderness areas where they benefit flora and fauna as they reduce and maintain grass and brush wildfire fuels.

The bareback riding club on Sundays mentioned in this podcast has been delayed. Please email Solomon below to check before heading out!

This incredable bareback and briddleless rider understands horseship like few others. His intuition led him to where he is today. As Equine director of "The GOOD SHEPARD FOUNDATION" he is in a postition to make a difference in the lives of many people and horses.

He's also become an expert on laminitis and hooves that are disfigured or special cases and a horse psychologist.

This is the type of education services I've talked and wished about for a while. So it was to my surprise and delight to find out about Soloman has been doing right here in my backyard, as we catch up after many years.

Now I'm wanting to get involved in this worth while cause, as well. I Hope you check out the web page and give Soloman a shout out, if you need his speciality farirer services.

  • Tenaya Jewell - Mustang Spiritual Activist

Tenaya Jewell: scientist and sacred activist.

Sacred activism is the blending of science and spirituality. It is the blending of one’s spiritual practice with one’s everyday life to include activism and it is about letting the work you do transform your inner life, seeing that what you advocate for is your mirror, your teacher and your healer.

“A spirituality that is only private and self-absorbed, one devoid of an authentic political and social consciousness, does little to halt the suicidal juggernaut of history.

On the other hand, an activism that is not purified by profound spiritual and psychological self-awareness and rooted in divine truth, wisdom, and compassion will only perpetuate the problem it is trying to solve, however righteous its intentions.

When, however, the deepest and most grounded spiritual vision is married to a practical and pragmatic drive to transform all existing political, economic, and social institutions, a holy force – the power of wisdom and love in action – is born.” Andrew Harvey, founder of Institute for Sacred Activism

  • Bella and Bird do their magic-Dr. Deana Plaskon, Ph.D.
    Sep 25 2025

    Send us a text

Dr. Deana Plaskon, Ph.D., has just released a new children’s book, Bella and Bird Explore Anger. The story is rooted in real-life resilience and compassion.

Dr. Plaskon, who holds a Ph.D. in human behavior and is certified in equine therapy, has spent decades helping children and families navigate big emotions. When she rescued Bella, a gentle Gypsy Vanner horse, to assist in her therapy work, she couldn’t have imagined how the horse’s own journey would shape her mission.

In 2022, Hurricane Ian devastated Pine Island with 150 mph winds. Many animals didn’t survive, but Bella did—despite a serious eye injury and being stranded without food or water after the island’s only bridge was destroyed. She was cared for by boat until help could arrive.

That resilience became the heart of Dr. Plaskon’s new children’s book series. Bella and Bird Explore Anger follows Henry, a young boy who storms into Bella’s pasture. With the gentle guidance of Bella and her barn swallow sidekick, Bird, Henry learns how to uncover the roots of his anger and channel it into healing.

The book empowers children to process difficult emotions with compassion and resilience—lessons inspired by a real therapy horse who’s weathered storms of her own.

You can learn more about Bella here: https://bellabirdbooks.com/
