  • Randy McGinnis EP65 The Jay Michael Show
    Feb 13 2026

Native American Music Award winner, Randy McGinnis is a passionate advocate of Native American flute music. Randy is of Cherokee decent. He grew up in Southern Ohio where he learned the values, traditions, and language of his native culture. His ancestors left North Carolina prior to the Trail of Tears and settled in Kentucky before eventually moving into Southern Ohio. The songs he plays on his Native American flute are from the old songs he grew up listening to as a small boy. Randy's style of playing has been described as “playing from the heart.”

Randy recorded in his own studio, Deer Star Productions, which he founded in 2008. In addition to solo performances, he has performed with other flutists, violinists, cellists, guitarists, and many other instruments.

Randy is passionate about passing on the traditional skills of playing the Native American Flute. He has taught thousands of adults and children the joy of this beautiful instrument. Along with the Smokey Mountain Flute Circle in Townsend, Tennessee, Randy founded a school program called Ancient Voices. This program taught underprivileged children, both Native American and non-native, to play the flute. Each child was given a flute of their own to take home.

  • Kelli Maroney EP64 Jay Michael Show
    Nov 21 2025

Kelli Maroney is an American actress whose career spans several decades, with 72 production credits, including 31+ films and over 540 hours of television.

She first came to recognition as the bad seed teen Lolita “Kimberly Harris” in the ABC Daytime drama RYAN's HOPE, winning the plum role only two weeks after arriving in NYC to attend classes at The National Shakespeare Company Conservatory. She soon found herself

acting opposite the likes of Joan Fontaine and Christopher Reeve as they made guest appearances on the show. She went on to take over the role of sex-kitten manipulator “Tina Lord” on ABC's ONE LIFE to LIVE.

Kelli also gained notice for her portrayal of the exasperated cheerleader “Cindy Carr/Spirit Bunny” in FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, a film that for many came to simply personify the 80s. Today Kelli's cheerleader costume is on display in the Universal Studios Museum. Strong female leading roles, notably MAC-10-toting cheerleader “Samantha Belmont” in the zombie apocalypse classic NIGHT OF THE COMET, the sweet Killbot-slaying “Alison Parks” in CHOPPING MALL, “Jamie” in the underground slasher THE ZERO BOYS, teen psychotic-killer “Jolene” in SLAYGROUND, and several other well-received films quickly earned Kelli her seat at the table as a final girl in the family of the horror genre. She also guest-starred in a variety of prime-time ABC, NBC, and CBS shows, including the ever-popular MURDER, SHE WROTE. Kelli has said that her most fulfilling role to date is the schizophrenic femme fatale “Merrie/Meredith” in Showtime's noir thriller FACE DOWN (written and directed by NIGHT OF THE COMET's Thom Eberhardt), playing opposite Joe

Mantegna, J.K. Simmons, and Adam Ant. Other streaming highlights include Kelli's channeling Tammy Faye Baker on HBO's TRUE BLOOD and playing herself in ADULT SWIM's TIM and ERIC'S AWESOME SHOW-GREAT JOB! alongside Patrick Duffy.

  • Tina Djuretic EP60 The Jay Michael Show
    Oct 24 2025

Tina Djuretic is a Canadian author living in Vancouver. She was raised by strict, religious parents who isolated her from the rest of the world. What followed were three toxic relationships that nearly destroyed her.

After her last breakup she sought help in the form of a channeller, who sent her on a path of healing. While writing her memoir she found forgiveness - for herself and her abusers. This taught her a lot about generational trauma, gaslighting, narcissists, and putting up healthy boundaries.

It's Tina's goal to share her story with anyone who find themselves in a similar situation, and to educate people on the subject of toxic relationships, healing, spirituality, and not just surviving...but CREATING.

Her book, Lost In The Overwhelm is a practical, hands on workbook, full of lessons and journalling prompts, meant to assist you in healing your childhood trauma. She had a lot of healing to do herself, and at the time, she had no idea where to start, so she asked for help. She asked for answers, and the Universe provided. Now she would like to pay it forward and share those lessons with you, because we ALL deserve healing. We ALL deserve peace. We ALL deserve to feel whole.

Tina is the author of her first book, Finding My Sovereignty and now, her new book, Lost in the Overwhelm.

  • Nicole Mikell EP59 The Jay Michael Show
    Oct 17 2025

This week's guest is indie author Nicole Mikell. Nicole shares her experience as a new indie writer.

Mikell describes learning to navigate the indie publishing world, from formating the files to get them ready for publication, to getting feedback from alpha and beta readers and her editor, to sending the advance ready copies, to releasing the book for publication. Another part of being an indie author is marketing her books. Besides friends and family, she has a street team that helps her with promoting her book on social media and getting her book in the hands of more readers.

Her debut novel, Baby It's You, was published earlier this year, and centers on Jane, Olive and Hunter. The second book in the series, Can't Hurry Love, will be released in December 2025. Can't Hurry Love showcases Ivy, Olive's best friend, Lee and Donovan. The series takes place in the small fictional town of Clairesville in Tennessee. These are interconnected stand-alone books. Some characters from book one pop up in book two. Mikell explains that her plan is to have a five-book series based in Clairesville. She is currently working on book three.

Starting as a kid who wrote stories to share with her family, to now being a published indie author, Nicole Mikell has come a long way!
