    About Mr Subir Shukla:

    Subir Shukla is Principal Coordinator of Group Ignus. He works on improving the quality of education systems, beginning in 1986 when he lived in a tribal village for 7 years while working on primary education with Eklavya, MP. He was then the founding Editor at National Centre for Children’s Literature, NBT-India (1993-95), tasked with promoting reading in the country. Subsequently, he worked extensively with government systems, as Chief Consultant (DPEP, 1995-98) and Educational Quality Advisor (SSA) to MHRD (2009-11), and led the development of the Quality Framework for the RTE.


    He has consulted for over 30 state/UT governments in India and 12 national governments in Asia and Africa. Team Ignus works on curriculum, textbooks, teacher training and quality improvement processes in various states, especially on large scale. Subir has been a member of Planning Commission’s working groups, and in expert advisory committees of the NCERT and NITI Aayog. His children’s books have been published by the NBT, Tulika, Eklavya and Ektara, with some of them now in their 20th edition. He is also the co-author of Child Development and Education in the Twenty-First Century, Springer, Singapore, 2019.

    With over two decades of expertise in learning design and curriculum development, Anil has held significant roles such as Vice President - Learning Design at Tata Interactive Systems and Chief - Learning Design and Social Impact at Tata ClassEdge. Notably, he conceptualised the Multiple Learning Experiences Model (MLEx) during his tenure at Tata ClassEdge.


    Anil, an active contributor on LinkedIn, has authored articles on education and edtech in mainstream media and has been a featured speaker at prestigious events and institutes, including the Tata Social Enterprise Challenge, National Seminar on Quality in Education (CII, Bangalore), Teacher Foundation (Bangalore), IIT Delhi, and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), New Delhi.
