Everyone has a love story they tell.
And then they have the one they actually lived.
For years, Lisa Smart has told the story of the day she met her husband the same way. Almost cinematic. The kind of story that makes people sigh and say--that is exactly hell is supposed to happen.
But there is a version of this story she has never told.
The version where she almost didn't show up that morning. Where the man who changed her life came with four children, a complicated history, and a question that asked more of her then she was ready to answer. Where she said yes--completely, genuinely, with her whole heart--before she fully understood what yes was going to cost her.
In episode 2 of The Lisa Smart Chronicles, Lisa opens the diary on her love story. She talks about the woman she was before him--self-sufficient, self-protected, and very good at not needing anyone. She talks about the Saturday morning everything changed, and the small act of kindness that cracked her walls open. She talks about what it really means to choose someone whose life is bigger and louder and more complicated than anything you planned for.
And somewhere between the romance and the reflection--if you are paying attention--you will notice the things she is not saying.
Because this is a love story. A real one.
And real love stories always have chapters the narrator isn't ready to read yet.
In this episode:
