• Self-development is the biggest value creation for Leaders Ft. Terry Hall
    May 12 2026

Self-development is the biggest value creation for leaders.

That is the title of my latest conversation on The Mentor & The Mentee Blueprint Leadership Podcast w/ Terry Hall.

Terry is a creative executive, a tech and operations leader, and the mind behind “Terry Inc”, which his self-titled representation of the unique and diverse skills he has garnered along the way, from early childhood roots in music and creativity to leading in technology, operations, and now Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) at Cox Communications.

Now in M&A, Terry is laser-focused on creating value by diagnosing business and enterprise with a keen eye for where value lives. That same lens applies to how he approaches his own growth, because self-development makes you more valuable in everything you do.

His story is proof that investing in yourself pays dividends.

Terry shared that his confidence as a leader came from internal validation only achieved by putting in the work, elevating institutional knowledge, and broad business acumen in enterprise knowledge. That foundation allowed him to remain humble while being a confident leader in his abilities.

Even as accomplished as he is today, Terry continues his ascent as a new graduate with his MBA from Harvard Business School. Congratulations, Terry.

A few takeaways from our conversation stood out:

    • Relationships are everything: We are social beings.
    • Executive etiquette matters: The small things shape how you show up.
    • Embrace failures and triumphs: Both are part of the growth.
    • ENJOY the ride, most importantly: Do not lose yourself in the process. You can only be your authentic self and your best when you enjoy what you are doing.

🎉 𝗡𝗼𝘄, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝗼, 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟮.𝟬 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. 🎉

Season One of The Mentor and Mentee Blueprint Podcast is complete. We are launching the revamped experience with a new format: revolving guests who bring diverse perspectives and real-world experience to the conversation.

Our first guest is Gavin DeLisser, CEO of Omni Worldwide Productions and a disciple of #TUGGLENATION. He sat down with me to discuss "Entrepreneurial Thinking Versus Corporate Environment."

    Here's what we unpacked:

    • Creative control: As an entrepreneur, you own the vision. In corporate, you often execute someone else's.
    • Wearing every hat: Marketing, finance, social media, business development, execution; Entrepreneurs handle it all. End-to-end responsibility.
    • You serve everybody: In corporate, you report to one or two people. As an entrepreneur, you serve every client, every stakeholder, every customer.
    • High stakes, high risk, high reward: No corporate safety net. You have to go out there and get it.

The big theme? Betting on yourself!

🔥 One of the best lessons I received as an Executive at AT&T came from Ralph de la Vega (Previous CEO, AT&T Mobility): "Never allow anyone to place limitations on your capabilities." That mindset is at the heart of entrepreneurship.

And the secret sauce? Your people. Meaningful connections, the right team, your tribe: that's what sustains you when you're building something of your own.

"If you take care of your people, they will take care of you." — Anthony E. Tuggle

This conversation is for anyone who has wondered what it takes to step out on their own, or who wants to bring entrepreneurial thinking into their corporate role.

In this episode of The Mentor and The Mentee Blueprint, we step away from titles, performance, and grind culture to talk about something leaders often overlook: health.

This is a conversation about longevity, awareness, and choosing alignment over burnout.

  • How to Build Winning Cultures
    Jan 27 2026

Your team doesn't need another strategy session.

They need to be seen, heard, and valued.

This week on The Mentor and the Mentee Blueprint, Anthony Tuggle and Mohamed Bayo-Velasco break down what it really takes to build a winner culture.

    Not more perks.

    Not more meetings.

Not more motivational quotes on the wall.

Three things that actually move the needle:

𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗻 – Your people need to know their work is visible. Not just to leadership, but to the organization.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 – Feedback has to flow both ways. If your team is talking and no one is listening, you don't have a culture. You have a performance.

𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗱 – Recognition is not optional. It's the difference between retention and resignation.

    Good leaders hit their numbers.

Great leaders build cultures where people want to stay and win.

If you're serious about leading a high-performance team, this episode is for you.

  • You Don't Know Your Purpose (And That's Okay)
    Jan 21 2026

In this week's episode of The Mentor & The Mentee Blueprint, Mohamed Bayo-Velasco and Anthony Tuggle tackle something most people struggle with in silence. Not knowing your purpose.

The pressure to have it all figured out. The guilt of feeling lost. The fear that everyone else has found theirs except you. Here's the truth: You don't know your purpose, and that's okay. Here's what we break down in this episode: Why not knowing your purpose doesn't mean you're behind. It means you're human. The difference between searching for purpose and building it.

One leads to frustration. The other leads to fulfillment. How to stop comparing your journey to someone else's highlight reel. Why purpose isn't a destination you arrive at. It's a process you live through. What to do when you feel stuck between where you are and where you think you should be.

Why working with a mentor can help you uncover what's already inside you. The answer isn't a lightning bolt moment. It's showing up, day after day, and paying attention. Your purpose isn't missing. It's unfolding.

  • Gratitude in Leadership
    Jan 21 2026

Gratitude is not a holiday tradition. It is a leadership discipline in this week's episode of The Mentor and The Mentee Blueprint, Anthony E. Tuggle &Mohamed Bayo-Velasco and I discussed why so many leaders wait until December to acknowledge their teams. And why that approach fails. The secret to building a strong organization is not strategy. It is not technology. It is not even talent.

It is acknowledgment. When people feel seen, they stay. When people feel valued, they perform. When people feel recognized, they become invested in something bigger than themselves. But acknowledgment cannot be seasonal. Your team does not wait until the holidays to show up for you. Why would you wait until the holidays to show up for them?

The best leaders I have coached treat recognition like a daily practice, not an annual event.

Mohamed challenged me with a perspective that stuck: The next generation is not asking for more praise. They are asking for more presence. The holidays are a reminder. But leadership is a daily practice.

  • Surplused, Not Finished: How Leaders Bounce Back
    Jan 7 2026

In this week's episode of The Mentor & The Mentee Blueprint, Mohamed Bayo-Velasco and I tackle something most people never talk about openly. Getting passed over.

The promotion you deserved. The role you were promised. The surplus notification that came out of nowhere.

These moments do not define your career. How you respond to them does.

Here is what we break down in this episode:

Why being passed over is not a reflection of your value. It is often a reflection of the system.

The difference between reacting and responding. One keeps you stuck. The other moves you forward.

How to process the disappointment without letting it poison your next opportunity.

What senior leaders should do when being surplused from a role they have done for so long.

Why an executive coach can be the difference between spiraling and strategizing.

The answer is not simple. But it starts with separating your identity from your title.

Your career is not over. It is redirecting.
