Hi, I’m Teri, your host and fellow music lover. From the moment I first heard a melody, music has been my greatest passion. It’s the soundtrack to my life, and I believe it’s the soundtrack to yours too. Whether it’s a song that makes you dance, a Broadway musical that leaves you in awe, or an anthem that inspires change, music has the power to connect us in ways words alone never could.

On this podcast, we explore it all—chart-topping hits, hidden gems, iconic Broadway shows, and the incredible stories behind the music. I’m here to share my love of all genres and dive into how music shapes our lives, brings us joy, and reminds us we’re not alone.

Every episode is packed with rhythm, heart, and discovery. Whether we’re breaking down wedding dance favorites, celebrating musicals like Mean Girls or Bonnie and Clyde, or exploring anthems of freedom and resilience, there’s always something new to learn and love.

If you’re as passionate about music as I am—or if you’re just curious about the songs and stories that inspire us—then join me for a journey through The Music in Me. Together, we’ll celebrate the beats that bring us together and keep us moving forward.

  • The Many Faces of Fatherhood in Musical Theater
    Jun 17 2026

In this Father’s Day episode of The Music in Me, I’m diving into the powerful, emotional, and sometimes unexpected ways musical theater portrays fathers and father figures. After doing a Mother’s Day episode celebrating moms in musicals, I knew I wanted to continue the tradition and shine a light on dads this time around. In this episode, I explore songs that show the many sides of fatherhood—fathers dreaming about the future, fathers trying to connect with their children, fathers who aren’t perfect, fathers who sacrifice everything, and the quiet beauty of watching children grow up. Some of these songs are longtime favorites of mine, and others were brand new discoveries I found while researching this episode, and I honestly fell in love with them. From classics like Les Misérables and Fiddler on the Roof to modern favorites like Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and Ragtime, each song adds a different layer to what it means to be a father or father figure. This episode is heartfelt, reflective, and deeply personal as I also take a moment to celebrate the important father figures in my own life. Whether you're celebrating, remembering, or simply reflecting this Father’s Day, I hope these songs from musical theater resonate with you as much as they did with me.

  • Tony Talk 2026: Musicals and Revivals
    Jun 3 2026

In this episode of The Music in Me, I dive into one of the most exciting times of the year for Broadway fans — Tony Awards season! I take a closer look at the 2026 Tony nominees for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical, including The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Titaníque, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), Ragtime, Cats: The Jellicle Ball, and The Rocky Horror Show. Even though I didn’t know much about some of these musicals before the nominations were announced, that is exactly why I love doing episodes like this. It gives me the chance to discover new Broadway shows, explore incredible music and stories, and share my excitement with all of you along the way. I talk about vampire rock musicals, hilarious comedy parodies, emotional historical storytelling, bold Broadway revivals, cult musical fandoms, and why theater continues reinventing itself year after year. I also share my personal Tony predictions, the musicals I most want to see, and my disappointment over Beaches and Jessica Vosk being left out of the nominations. If you love Broadway, musical theater, Tony Awards discussions, or just discovering new musicals to become obsessed with, this episode is for you!
