In Week 4, the final week of The Disciple’s Path series, Aaron Joseph Hall teaches from Matthew 28:16–20, where Jesus gives His followers the Great Commission to go and make disciples.

Big Idea: Discipleship doesn’t end with us—it multiplies through us.

Before giving the command, Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. That means the mission doesn’t depend on our ability or confidence—it rests on Christ’s authority.

Interestingly, when the disciples saw the risen Jesus, they worshiped, but some doubted. Even those who walked closely with Him wrestled with uncertainty. Yet Jesus still commissioned them, reminding us that the mission is given to ordinary people who trust Him.

Jesus didn’t say to build crowds or host events. He said make disciples—people who follow Jesus, are being changed by Jesus, and help others follow Jesus.

Discipleship isn’t just teaching information; it’s life-on-life investment. It means opening Scripture together, modeling obedience, praying for someone, and helping them take their next step with Christ.

You don’t need a stage or platform to do this. You simply need availability and obedience.

And Jesus gives a powerful promise: “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

So the question becomes simple and personal:

Who is your one?

Who is the person God is calling you to invest in, walk with, and help follow Jesus?
