  • A conversation with my mom: the American dream versus reality and what she really thinks about my friends
    May 21 2024
Entry #8: Greetings! To start of, sorry for a week late entry. Will be sending you postcards every two weeks from now on. This week I have my favourite person as a guest: my mom. I was very excited to have her with me and talk all about the culture shock and experience she had moving to a completely different country, where she barely spoke the language, to raise a child practically alone in her early 30s. We discuss everything from the American Dream vs Reality, what she truly thinks about my friends, our trips and the life lesson she learned in her 20s and how to move forward. Thank you so much for listening and the support. Talk soon xx Follow me on Instagram @thepostcardpodcast and @rebinprogress Podcast theme and transition music by Transistor.fm.

This week I am sharing some updates. How I've been feeling, a concert I went to over the weekend, upcoming plans and random thoughts I've had such as knowing when the time to let go is and time flying by. • Finding comfort in nostalgic media
    Apr 22 2024

Postcard entry #5: Hello everyone! This week has been one of procrastination, no sleep, bad anxiety and more for me. So I talk about what usually makes me feel better during those bad times and that's childhood comfort movies and shows. It's no secret that nostalgia is magic! It helps us heal our inner child and through that, our depressed adult. I talk about my childhood favorites, the best era of Disney Channel and why I think nostalgic media brings us comfort. In efforts of doing things for myself to help with my mental health this week, I also took some Buzzfeed quizzes with you guys! something that always connected me with a best friend that's far away right now.

So grab a tea or coffee, maybe a face mask, a sweet treat or two and sit and chat with me. Let's take care of our inner child and our mental health!

TW: slight mentions of mental illness, body dysmorphia, paranoia, ocd, child sa and abuse. (i don't go into too much detail about any of these topics but they are mentioned briefly; i talk a bit about the Quiet on Set docuseries and need for child protection but no specific details are divulged deeply)
