About this listen

This Podcast aims to inform people about certain health conditions in a light, casual way.

Every 2 weeks a health topic is discussed by two pharmacists who studied together at University. They host the show and comment on real life case studies of people who have the health condition in question.

Each case study is then commented on by their resident doctor in order to bring to light the importance of being proactive when it comes to your health, rather than reactive.

The shows presenters give tips and advice for listeners to look out for in the health topics discussed. The real life case studies also help to serve as a valuable learning tool.

  • Erica"s Story
    May 26 2022

Erica was a new Mum and felt very alone. She was aware that there was something not quite right with her baby, but just carried on, as her Gp refused to acknowledge all the tell-tale signs that her baby was exhibiting. Her baby was constantly crying, did not sleep well and had awful diarrhoea. Numerous trips to her GP did not result in her concerns being taken seriously. Erica's story is unfortunately a common one. However, it is lovely that Erica is determined that new Mums & Dads have somewhere to go to receive guidance and support if they feel their babies suffer from intolerances. As a result of what Erica had to go through she now makes sure other parents do not have to go through the same. Tune into this insightful Podcast to find out more.

  • High Cholesterol
    Apr 15 2022

Bernadette was routinely invited by her new GP to have a Well Woman Check, she was shocked to find that she had very high cholesterol.

It made her realise that having regular check ups with regard to your health was paramount. Initially Bernadette thought healthy eating and regular exercise would make a difference.

However once her consultant had discovered how blocked arteries were, she was immediately told that she would require medication. That routine check up, saved Bernadette's life, as a build up of cholesterol could have led to a heart attack or stroke. Bernadette now leads a fulfilled, happy healthy life and is grateful for that early intervention.
