2026 marks sixty years since the closure of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway, a line that, for many people, was far more than just a railway.

We went along to Shillingstone Railway Station where a group of dedicated volunteers have been hard at work to keep the S&DJR alive, alongside a group of preservationists whose aim is to restore two Yugoslavian steam locos.
