    In this exciting episode, Brooklyn Martinez sits down with the incredible 8th grader, Miss Kendall Mehl, as she prepares to compete in her 3rd Scripps National Spelling Bee May 26-28. From studying hundreds of challenging words to staying calm under pressure, Kendall shares what the journey to the national stage has really been like. We talk about the dedication, discipline, and support system that helped her reach this milestone for three consecutive years, as well as the ups and downs that come with competing at such a high level.

From summer mileage to championship tapering, we walk through the key phases of training and how to adjust for different experience levels on your team.

    You’ll hear practical tips on balancing intensity and recovery, avoiding burnout, and keeping athletes motivated through the middle of the season. We also dig into common mistakes coaches make when planning workouts and how small adjustments can lead to big improvements by the end of the year.
