About this listen

The Safety Scouting Report is designed as a “toolbox talk” for safety professionals, or brief rundowns on the basic, foundational aspects of occupational safety and health (OSH) work to use as reminder, refreshers, or to help clear the cobwebs and give a different view. As a safety professional, we spend plenty of time doing talks for others, so this is meant for us. And sometimes we’ll tuck in longer episodes with interviews featuring safety professionals giving their views on things, too. The Safety Scouting Report is hosted by Scot Kaeff, MSP, OHST, a former safety compliance officer with an OSHA State Plan agency and current safety professional in the manufacturing field.

    Oct 15 2024

Safety professionals watch over the health and safety of other employees. One of the ways we typically do so is by creating "toolbox talks" so that supervisors, managers, and other frontline personnel can have short chats with their teams regarding pertinent safety topics. Consider this show to be a "toolbox talk" for safety professionals, where we talk about the basics, the fundamentals, the little things that affect everything. New stuff, reminders, and key points. My name is Scot Kaeff, and I'm your host. This week's topic is: No, Why, & Refusing Hazardous Work
