Our story begins in the small town of Dovern’s Rise, where four strangers are brought together as if by the hand of fate itself. When the strangers are offered free room and board at the local tavern in exchange for dealing with the owners ‘Rat Problem’, they find themselves biting off more than they can chew. As the rats in question seem unending, the reluctant heroes begin to ask themselves just how far they’ll go to keep the rats away…

After following Rattaway into the forest and clearing the rats from his druid circle, our heroes follow a mysterious trail of blood deeper into the forest, hoping to find the leader of the Rat Cult and figure out what exactly they were doing. But they quickly learn that they are not alone in this forest, and discover far too late just how full of danger the world is - and just how quickly that danger can change, grow...and transform. 

Triumphant against Ratgar’s horde of Rat-shifting druids, our heroes return to Dovern’s Rise, eager to repair their equipment and get some much needed rest. But when Jarek and Thafi go to speak with the town Blacksmith, they learn that his enchanted fire isn’t burning well enough to fix their stuff. He asks them to investigate the local temple, where they learn that trouble can come in all manner of shapes and sizes - and why the first rule they teach at Adventuring Schools is: DON’T SPLIT THE PARTY!
