    Jan 18 2026

This week on The Set Peace Podcast, we’re joined by Josh Hare, current Hornchurch FC defender, whose football journey is deeply rooted in family, resilience, and perseverance.

Growing up surrounded by football, Josh’s path into the game was shaped early on. With his dad, cousin, and uncle all involved in football including family links to the professional game and youth setups such as Gillingham football was never just a hobby, it was part of everyday life. From watching, learning, and dreaming, Josh developed a strong understanding of what it takes to survive in the game from a young age.

In the first half of the episode, Josh takes us through his football journey the early promise, the expectations that come with a footballing family, and the challenges that tested him along the way. He speaks honestly about injuries, setbacks, and moments where his career could have gone in a very different direction, and how those experiences ultimately shaped the player and person he is today.

In the second half, the conversation shifts beyond football. Josh opens up about the mental side of the game dealing with frustration, recovery, self-doubt, and the importance of having the right people around you during tough periods. He reflects on how injuries affected his mindset, how perspective has changed over time, and why enjoying football again became just as important as chasing levels.
This is an honest, grounded conversation about football, family, and resilience a reminder that progress isn’t always linear, and that sometimes the journey itself builds the strongest foundations

The set peace podcast is about more than football it’s about the people behind it.

Every 2 weeks, we sit down with guests across the game from pros to physios, coaches to players, these are the conversations we all need to hear, in football and in life.

With 45 minutes talking football and 45 minutes on mental health and well-being these conversations are for everyone whether you’re in football or not.

  • Kerry & Myles - 2025 Wrap Up
    Jan 4 2026

As 2025 came to an end, we took a moment to pause, reflect, and look back on the journey so far on The Set Peace Podcast. In this special wrap-up episode, the hosts sit down to reflect on the conversations, stories, and people that have shaped the year from academy journeys and non-league paths to professional careers, setbacks, resilience, and growth beyond football.

Throughout the episode, we revisit the themes that kept coming up again and again: identity, pressure, injury, release, faith, purpose, and the importance of speaking openly about mental health in football.

We reflect on moments that stayed with us, conversations that challenged our thinking, and the impact these stories have had not just on us as hosts, but on listeners and the wider football community.

This episode isn’t about highlights or numbers it’s about the people behind the stories, the lessons learned, and why these conversations matter. It’s a chance to take stock, show gratitude to every guest who trusted us with their story, and acknowledge the community that continues to support and engage with the podcast.

A reflective, honest, and necessary conversation to close out the year and look ahead to what’s next

  • Montel Agyemang
    Dec 21 2025

This week on The Set Peace Podcast, we’re joined by Montel Agyemang, a dynamic centre midfielder whose football journey reflects the realities, resilience, and relentless grind of the non-league and professional game.

Montel came through the academy system at Leyton Orient, getting an early taste of professional football before gaining valuable experience through loan spells and senior football across the pyramid. His career has taken him through a number of competitive environments, where adaptability, patience, and mental strength were just as important as talent. Each move brought new lessons about form, confidence, contracts, and the constant pressure to perform.

Now playing for Horsham, Montel reflects on what it truly means to sustain a career in football beyond the spotlight. In the first half of the episode, we talk about his development through academies, loans, and non-league football, the mental challenges of uncertainty, and how setbacks can either stall you or sharpen you.

In the second half, the conversation goes deeper into mental health and wellbeing. Montel opens up about managing pressure, self-belief, and identity as a footballer, particularly when the journey doesn’t follow a straight line. He speaks honestly about resilience, staying grounded, and learning to control what you can when football feels unpredictable especially through injuries

This is a real, grounded conversation that sheds light on the unseen side of football the mental strength required to keep going, the lessons learned through adversity, and the importance of balance, perspective, and support.
