About this listen

I struggled for seven years before I was able to get an accurate diagnosis of having contracted Lyme disease and a handful of co-infections like bartonella, anaplasmosis, and cytomegalovirus. My body also had high levels of EBV and HPV which nearly led to cervical cancer. I was relieved once I got a diagnosis because that felt a lot better than continually being told there was nothing wrong with me except too much stress. I did not realize how dark that diagnosis would become until I really started fighting the infections in my body. Sadly, the treatment of Lyme is not covered by insurance, and it is very expensive and time consuming to fix. I had to COMPETELY redo who I was as a being. I am still in this evolution. It has become an incredibly beautiful thing to me to witness by now but that is also because I am healthy. It is much easier to see it as such when I feel well. One thing I particularly craved and devoured when I found them was healing stories of others who had gotten well. I would hear more stories of those who were not getting well, but I knew not to focus on those. Pray for those people, but do not choose the same fate of never getting well. Find others who have healed and focus on those stories and outcomes. I am grateful for the stories I could find and now that I am well, I really want to share more of that energy. This podcast is for those who want to focus on the stories of others HEALING and beating Lyme and tick-borne illness. It is a very tough road to walk for those who are working toward health and for their families, so it is extra important for them to hear these stories. Please tell them we are here! It can really help someone stuck in the darkness. I fully believe that HEALING is possible, and that HOPE gives others the courage to HEAL. If we can see and hear of others doing it, it becomes much more tangible for others to do the same. My dream is for all those suffering with dis-ease to find the courage to push forward with healing themselves. It may not be easy, but it is possible. These are the stories of those who are living proof that miracles happen every day. You must BELIEVE2023 Alternative & Complementary Medicine Hygiene & Healthy Living

  • The Silver Lyming: Episode 76 with Dr. Cristina McMullen
    Nov 6 2025

On this episode, I interview Dr. Cristina McMullen, a naturopathic doctor and wellness coach, who shares her background in alternative medicine and her extensive experience treating patients with tick-borne infections. Dr. McMullen explains how she became passionate about this field after witnessing the positive results of holistic treatments at Longevity Health Center, where she has worked for nearly 20 years. We discuss the complexities of PANS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders) and its relation to Lyme disease, with Dr. McMullen highlighting the need for individualized treatment approaches.

Dr. McMullen discusses the importance of building immune resilience in children, emphasizing that despite potential exposure to pathogens like Lyme disease, children can be protected and empowered to lead healthy lives. She shares success stories of patients who recover from chronic health conditions and thrive academically. Dr. McMullen stresses the need for education and preparation rather than fear, encouraging outdoor activities while teaching practical measures to handle potential infections.

This is an important episode as children are the hardest hit population when it comes to Lyme and tick-borne illness, and they experience a litany of symptoms related to their cognitive abilities which could derail their academic life, as well as their physical health permanently if left undiagnosed and untreated. PANS/PANDAS is something that often accompanies tick-borne illness so being informed and aware is crucial.
