    In this new episode of the Soar Beyond Podcast, we begin by getting to know Miss Jamal, our Reception teacher, as pupils ask thoughtful and often very entertaining questions about her favourite books, food and what it is like to be a teacher.


    In Book Talk, members of the library quiz team return to share their latest reads, including The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh and The Wildlands, offering thoughtful reflections and recommendations for fellow readers.


    Pupils also take us into their learning as they reflect on their thematic curriculum, from exploring Greek legacy to developing their creativity through art and sculpture.

    Finally, we hear from our new Headteacher, Mr Dadley, as pupils ask their big questions ahead of his start after Easter. From his journey into teaching to his hopes for the school, this is a fantastic opportunity to get to know him before he officially joins the Whittle family.

    In this new episode of the Soar Beyond Podcast, we begin with an in-depth pupil-led interview with Mr Sowerby, co-headteacher, who talks about his leadership journey, his love of maths and history and what makes Whittle such a special community.


    In Book Talk, members of the library quiz team explore The Secret of Golden Island by Natasha Farrant, discussing themes of friendship, hope and resilience and sharing their favourite moments as they prepare for their upcoming quiz.


    We then hear from Mrs Smith and the Whittle Warblers Choir as they discuss the power of music, wellbeing, and performance. Pupils share their experiences of Young Voices, singing for charity and how the choir has helped them build confidence, friendships and joy through song.


    Finally, Year 2 pupils reflect on their autumn term theme 'The Big Smoke', sharing memories from their London trip and what they learned about landmarks, the River Thames and the Great Fire of London.

  • Outdoor Adventures, Swiftie Questions and Street Safety. The Soar Beyond Podcast (Ep.6)

    In this new episode of the Soar Beyond Podcast we explore fresh stories of creativity, leadership and learning across Whittle Academy.


    We begin in the forest with Aimee Dimock who shares how outdoor learning is helping pupils build life skills and appreciate the world around them. Children reflect on their projects from obstacle courses to sunflowers and even spark making with flint and steel, all while celebrating the joy of working together in nature.


    In Book Talk, Sahar from Year 6 joins us to review her latest read, Letters from the Lighthouse, and shares her love of World War-themed stories along with her excitement for this year's library quiz.


    We also introduce a new member of staff as pupils ask their curious questions from favourite destinations to dream karaoke songs to Mrs Bolam-Wilson. Finally, our Junior PCSOs talk about their training, crime scene challenges and how they are helping make the school community safer for everyone.
