  • Season Finale: Dinner With a Ghost at Muriel’s Jackson Square in New Orleans
    Nov 18 2025

Step inside Muriel’s Jackson Square in New Orleans, where candles glow, dinner is served… and one seat is always reserved for a ghost.

Join me, LadyG, as I recount a couple of unforgettable experiences dining "alongside" the lingering spirit of Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan.

From the famously set “ghost table” to the hauntingly beautiful séance room filled with Gregorian chants, this cozy-spooky episode blends history, humor, and the supernatural charm only New Orleans can offer.

Pull up a chair, just not Pierre’s, and enjoy a magical night at the most haunted table in town.

  • My Dad is a Retired Railroad Conductor: He Tells A True Scary Story.
    Oct 25 2025

Please read! You’ll appreciate the story more.

This story is dedicated to train buffs and railroad workers everywhere!

    Story contains coarse language.

I recently did a dramatic narration of Charles Dickens' The Signal-man.

The other day, I retold the story to my 80-year-old Dad --since he doesn't listen to the podcast.

When I finished the story , he looked dead in my face as if to say, "Hold my beer!"

You see, my Daddy is a retired Conductor for a major railroad corporation...it's the one with an image of a horse rared back on the engine...if you know, you know.

Anyway, during his 30+ years of service, he's seen things way out in these Georgia woods that he cannot explain.

In this episode, he tells us about a time when he, and the Engineer, Wiley, ran up on something late one night that neither of them was prepared for.

Just so you know, Wiley, as the engineer, was naturally seated on the engine in the front of the train.

Daddy, was sitting on the caboose at the rear of the train. It’s important to note that Daddy uses the word "cab" and “caboose” interchangeably.

Their only means of communication was via handheld two-way radios…we used to call them “walkie-talkies.”

Remember, they were deep in the woods, well after midnight, and the only light my Daddy had was from his lantern, the moon, and the stars!🤣

    Note:

My Daddy is always focused on telling the smallest of details that may seem tedious, but trust me, they will factor back in to the story, so don't skip ahead.

I intentionally left the details in for train buffs.

He's also very meticulous about recalling dialogue , so you'll notice that he corrects himself when quoting Wiley in the story.

BTW, you might hear me chewing near the end! Remember, I’m trying to look and sound normal, otherwise he would have caught on to the fact that I was recording him.

    Enjoy!
