The biggest misconception about earning respect is assuming you can walk into a situation and earn it. Rather, you must first hand craft yourself and improve yourself, so that first you can respect yourself. Then from there, you hold to your core values and tenants. Some will love you for this, some will hate you. Either way, you will still earn respect.
