Social media has good intentions when it was born but it becomes a medium for social comparison. Social media loves the comparison. We're using it to seek feedback instead of gathering knowledge or insight to connect quickly rather than meaningfully. For business leaders, rise above the noise. Here are some things to help you when a client wants to promote their services, connect with their audiences, and grow their social network.

    • It provides virtually unlimited access and connectivity to our friends, global businesses, media outlets, and information.
    • Association between greater social media use, and higher rates of depression, and anxiety.
    • Most obvious side effect of social media overuse is the tendency for unfair comparison

    • Social comparison is a form of sociological self-esteem, where we derive our sense of self, through comparing ourselves with others.
    • Social media thrives on comparison.
    • Social media becomes a vehicle for validation and comparative thinking.

    • Give your clients and community the option to step away from the swirling chaos of social media.
    • Provide a safe, quiet space, where true honesty, discovery, and growth is possible.
    • Eliminate the option for comparison and promote the option for authentic communication.
