    Apr 25 2026

A Brit living in Australia, Christine Smith, also known as The Food Granny, travels with a different kind of passport, one that gets her invited into kitchens rather than just across borders.

From sitting in village kitchens learning generational recipes, to discovering unexpected delicacies in places most travellers overlook, her journeys are driven by curiosity and connection rather than checklists.

Food has taken her off the beaten track and into experiences that most tourists simply do not see.

  • Briana Gervat’s solo 500-mile walk through history along The Western Front
    Apr 17 2026

Briana Gervat is a historian, photographer, and an author who recently published her memoir, There Will Come Soft Rains: A Journey Along the Western Front.

She is the first woman to walk the "Western Front Way" solo.

In 2022, just as the world began to open after the isolation of a global pandemic, Briana Gervat set out to walk the length of the Western Front. Beginning at the border that France shares with Switzerland she went into the wild in search of hope and in search of peace. For 500 miles, she climbed over the mountains of the Vosges, through the battle-scarred landscapes of Verdun, the Marne, and the Somme, all the way to the North Sea in Belgium. It was not only a journey of 36 days, but a journey through a period of history that we have learned nothing from, only how not to repeat it.

It is the story about what it means to walk through the remnants of history to feel its reverberations, to listen to its echoes, and with hope, to learn something along the way.he way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

    Very commendable and throught-provoking.

    Feb 26 2026

Belinda Coker is an Australian hiker, writer, and educator who helps men and women in midlife, reclaim freedom through practical, real-world adventure.

Along the way, she founded Soul Treader, a platform supporting men and women to safely push their limits through adventure. Building on that philosophy, she later created The House Sitting Collective, teaching responsible, flexible travel that is safe, organised, and built on trust.
