The Vault of the Wanderer is a sobriety-literature commentary illuminating the writings of Alcoholics Anonymous and material heard in the rooms of AA, based entirely on personal experience and direct self-observation. This podcast documents the speaker’s inner process — reflecting on sobriety, motives, dreams, spiritual practices, and spiritual development as they unfold through lived experience and direct self-observation. The speaker weaves AA literature with the Bhagavad Gita, the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, the Buddha, and other sacred texts. This is not a podcast about how to stop drinking and is not intended for early sobriety, but about the inner work that begins once sobriety is stable and its foundations are in place — dismantling defects of character, understanding the ego, and discovering the Higher Power within. The voice speaks as a fellow traveler, not as a representative of Alcoholics Anonymous.Anonymous Spirituality

  • Learning to Rely on My Higher Power
    Jul 17 2026

In this episode, I share an inner experience that shifted the way I relate to external guidance, sponsorship, and a Power greater than myself.

There came a point in my sobriety where I began to feel a quiet pull inward — a sense that what I had been relying on externally was not meant to carry me for the entire duration of my sobriety.

Through self-reflection, deep study and meditation upon the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, study of other traditions such as Buddhism and Hinduism, and a vivid dream, I began to see the difference between borrowed recovery and a more direct relationship with my higher power, which I call the innermost self.

This is simply my experience as it continues to unfold.

  • The Cost of Outsourcing My Intuition to Artificial Intelligence
    Jul 15 2026

In the Season 2 premiere, I share a deeply personal realization: I had become dependent on artificial intelligence for guidance in countless areas of my life. From everyday decisions to creative work, I slowly began outsourcing what I believe should ultimately come from within.

This episode is not about condemning AI, but about examining attachment, dependence, and the importance of reconnecting with intuition, faith, and the guidance of a Higher Power.

Drawing from my own experience with addiction and recovery, I reflect on how even a helpful tool can become an unhealthy dependency when used without awareness.

  • Uncovering the Mechanism Behind Suffering
    Jun 25 2026

Why do the same patterns keep repeating in our lives?

The Big Book tells us that our liquor was but a symptom and that we must get down to causes and conditions. But what does that actually mean?

After asking in prayer what must be understood if suffering is ever to end at its root, I awoke from a dream with the music of Carl Orff’s O Fortuna echoing through my mind. That experience led me to explore the Wheel of Samsara, the law of cause and effect, and the possibility that the suffering we experience is sustained by causes that remain unseen and therefore unchanged.

Drawing from Alcoholics Anonymous, Buddhism, and personal experience, I examine recurrence, karma, causes and conditions, and the question:

    Why does this keep happening?

Because if the causes remain untouched, the pattern repeats.

    And the wheel continues turning.
