About this listen

Therapeutic Astrology Podcast by Mannah (TAP) is place to learn og and feel into healing methods, psychological insights and the mystery pointed to by forgotten languages of the soul. My name is Mannah, and I aim to inspire you to a rich life on all levels of experience. As you listen, let the existential questions breathe into your inner realms where Wholeness is always present. We are in good company with thought leaders, authors, and healers of our time - or sometimes of past times as I may read the authors alive in solo episodes. In common my variety of guests have a wish to stop fragmentation and care for a greater view of this embodied spiritual life. My own primary path is through Evolutionary Astrology, and in each episode I spend a few moments to tap into my guests birth chart. Let's TAP in together - no matter where you are, you have a place to call Whole. • #138 - Brian James - The Cult and Myth of Trauma - Trust Your Soul's Response - Howl in the Wilderness
    Feb 20 2026

"Culture looks and acts a lot like a religious cult, and as writer and magician Alan Moore has said, every culture started out as a cult." (quote from Brian James, Traumadelic, 2024) In this conversation, my very Jupiterian guest says: EXPANSIVENESS IS THE KEY and he also says "sometimes we just loose our shit!"

Listen to this thought-provoking conversation about the so-called myth of trauma. It is a longer episode, but I invite you to stick around, because we get into so important themes like what is is that attracts so many people to trauma work - and what you can do when you are caught by a belief. Brian James is a depth counselor, archetypal coach, and podcast host (see link below), and we share a love of yoga, interviews, depth psychology, and a mutual tendency to question overly simplistic views!! You could even say we "trauma bond" over our experiences in (leaving) therapy schools........a little into the conversation. Like I said -please stick around!

For those who care to read this text, I will mention I mix up an important word, but I mean to talk about the parentalism, a term that contains an objection within it!!! The heart of that critique in parentalism and in this conversation is actually captured in a quote from James Hillman, quoted in Brian James' Traumadelic:

"The more I believe my nature comes from my parents, the less open I am to the ruling influences around me. The less the surrounding world is felt to be intimately important to my story. Yet even biographies begin by locating the subject in a place; the self starts off amid the smells of a geography. We are ecological from day one."

TAP in with us as we explore:

    - Brian's experience with a series of remembrances
    - Another way of understanding causality
    - Radical ambivalence
    - A critique of "small t" trauma
    - Experiences with Gabor Maté and other role models that are not always easy to engage with in a nuanced way
    - Being right or wrong is constructed ! Go beyond!
    - Are we truly responsible for all our actions?

-What it means to be triggered, and how we understand it without trauma
-The importance of finding your own path
-A howl in the wilderness of modernity
-The experience of being an outsider, while still longing for connection
-The myth of trauma within the psychedelic world
    - The cliché of non-reactivity vs. responsiveness – and the risk of overriding one's instinct to be affected
    – Thinking in elements, because it is all archetypal

    -Attending to the soul
    - Understanding suffering and authentic reactions

    -Our animal nature

-Ego defenses and reactions that upsets others

    -disillusionments of our time

-It is an affront to nature and the soul when we can't challenge what we are to learn and speak up about what we feel

    -Still reactive? Thank God!!

TO BE OF THIS EARTH !!!

-in terms of astrology we mostly speak jupiter, and I mention a danish therapist, that is Ulla Rung Weeke and if you do understand danish, I recommend this interview with her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz05yQCSBrE&t=380s

I hope you enjoy it, I truly did, and I am not trying to sell anyone anything, but I did really feel like Brian would be such a safe space to be in depth therapy with. I loved to be free and personal in this interview.

  • #137 - Tiffany Hopkins - Beyond - A Living Person's Guide To The Dead - Mediumship as a Healing Practice
    Feb 17 2026

If you are curious about mediumship, I really recommend this interview with medium, teacher and author Tiffany Hopkins. We talk about her book, "Beyond – A Living Person's Guide to the Dead" (2025), which I find to be an easy read, as well as very informative and mind-expanding. I would call Tiffany Hopkins a visionary in this area of mediumship, and I am so glad for this conversation with her. You are very welcome to tap in with us as Tiffany Hopkins shares about:

-How she became a medium in a town of mediums

-Tiffany worked in tech for 20 years, and it is not too far off from mediumship

-Spiritualism, the Second Great Awakening, and Lily Dale

-How mediumship and working with AI are similar

    -The need for discernment

-Staying connected to different aspects of your being

-The foundation of mediumship and why it changes us

-The experience becoming real as it is shared

-Creativity and mediumship—where you receive and express

-The importance of therapeutic support and being validated

    -The countercultural component of mediumship

    -Will mediumship be culturally accepted?

-Mediumship as inherently healing and care work

    -The therapeutic context

-Now—what if not all the information is from spirit? Tiffany has a neuroscience background and offers her new two metaphors for what is happening in mediumship

    -Evidence for Spirit

-Improvisation as we listen to both at the same time

-Can you bring in information and integrate it?

-The spiritual connection is not practical!

    -LONELINESS—and a potential loneliness renaissance

-the social construct of this one romantic partner (I relate this comment then to the Pluto in Scorpio generation)

-The Pluto in Scorpio generation is born from 5th of November 1983 to 10th of November 1995 (with retrograde returns during the period so be sure to check out your actual birth day) and we talk about the deep heartbreak that often comes in relationship because we are to grow so much, that we need the pain head first- for healing to occur the trauma need expositon/confrontation/that we dare deal with it.

    -The noise on social media

-Belinda wants to empower people so we can navigate transits

-Being trauma informed come through as she speaks of how we learned early to override our body's signals and weren't trained to trust our intuition.

-The risk of transference of trust into another astrologer

-The potential of Neptune in Aries - and also saturn and the whole shift with the outer planets in air-fire this year 2026

-How Belinda do NOT in fact look to the chart to learn about a trauma

-Repressed parts of the chart (blindspots)

-You are not stuck, but can do the inner work
