Being diagnosed with a chronic illness or serious illness can be a stressful, if not traumatic, experience. Madison Darling, author of This Might Be How You Feel, had emergency brain surgery in September of 2014. Over the following years, Madison experienced more diagnoses and procedures and personally learned how taxing and endless the illness journey can be. 


A few years after her brain surgery for a Chiari 1 Malformation, Madison started to unpack the effects of the diagnoses and illnesses on her life and did so through writing. Each episode is a recording of those entries and focuses on a single feeling relating to illness while grappling with faith and other traumas in the process. 


The overall purpose of This Might Be How You Feel is to provide insight and understanding into the complexities of chronic and serious illness, to provide comfort and understanding for those that are experiencing it, and to provide education and insight to those who know or love someone experiencing it. After all, This Might Be How You Feel.
