About this listen
Star De Azlan is ready to make waves and is carving out her own path in the vibrant world of country music. She is thrilled to unveil her debut single “Adios Cowboy.”
Growing up in Texas, in a humble 900 square foot river-shack, with 8 other family members, Star was surrounded by the timeless sounds of country-legends like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Loretta Lynn, who inspired her from a young age.
Her musical journey began with playing the violin in mariachi bands and later led to her first performance at the iconic Cheatham Street Warehouse at just 13 years old. It was here that she sang tunes like “You’re Cheating Heart” and “Crazy” alongside the Ace in The Hole Band every Monday night. At 15, Star bought her first guitar and wrote her first songs. By 21 her talent had taken her across the nation even selling out venues in Europe.
Diving deep into songwriting, Star is currently in the studio, and crafting her new album. This marks her first time taking the reins on production, and it’s evident that she is a multi-faceted artist. Collaborating with the talented David Beck, who co-produces several tracks, Star brings a fresh and diverse sound to her music; From the bright melody of the trumpet to the haunting tones of a steel guitar, this album promises heartfelt stories of love, loss, and her Texas roots. An inimitable record that will have you looking forward to the next.
