He studied illustration at the California College of Arts and Crafts. A regular on the comic con circuit for ten years selling his popular prints, his first graphic novel, The Airless Year  (with writer Adam P. Knave and Letterer Frank Cvetkovic) was published by Dark Horse Comics in 2022. Valentine lent his amazing chops to the ThoughtScape Comics project by creating the cover for TSC #3.
