Tools to Purchase:

  1. A package from Logos Bible Software. Logos.com
  2. If you are a hard copy person, purchase a Greek-English Interlinear for the NT, Hebrew-English Interlinear for the OT, a Strongs dictionary/concordance, and a good Bible encyclopedia such as Holmans or Eerdmans for historical backgrounds.
  3. A good study Bible can go a long way, especially if you take time to read the intro's to each book. The ESV Study Bible seems to have the best book intros and numerous articles helping explain context, history, literary features, etc.
  4. A pen and paper to take notes!
