About this listen

Our mission at Toward The Lord 501c3 is to use the resources God has provided to help those in need. The poor have been forgotten in our society and homelessness is climbing to alarming levels. Toward The Lord 501c3 ensures that donations provided will be used to help homelessness in a very transparent way. Jesus taught compassion and empathy for the homeless, and Toward The Lord 501c3 will continue to do HIS work with selflessness and passion.

The founder of Toward The Lord is using his personal training certification to help raise money for the "Poor & Forgotten". The idea is to help those in need of fitness understandings and also faith in our savior Jesus Christ. Having experiences in both Faith & Fitness helped create a terrific platform for Toward The Lord 501c3. Loving people, as Jesus asked us to do, helped the Chief Baggage Handler also become Petee Pushup in the fitness industry.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Welcome, friends! Today, I invite you to reflect on a verse that’s simple yet profoundly powerful—1 John 4:15:

“If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.” (NIV)

Walking in Wisdom: Lessons from the Book of Proverbs

    Introduction

Welcome to “Toward The Lord”—a space where we seek wisdom, encouragement, and practical guidance from God’s Word. Today, we’re diving into the Book of Proverbs, a treasure trove of biblical wisdom that speaks directly to the challenges and choices we face every day.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7)

What does it mean to “fear the Lord”? In Proverbs, this isn’t about being terrified of God. Instead, it’s about having a deep respect, awe, and reverence for God—a recognition of His greatness, holiness, and authority. This kind of “fear” means giving God the proper “weight” in our lives, acknowledging Him as the ultimate source of wisdom and truth. When we approach God with this attitude, we are open to learning and receiving true knowledge.
