About this listen

When it comes to raising kids, what is the most important thing? Jesus made it clear when he said, "seek first the kingdom of heaven." He also gave us the command to make disciples, and we believe that starts with our children. In this podcast we we'll help guide parents to train up their children in the ways of the Lord!© 2023 Train Them Up: Parents Guide To Discipleship Parenting Relationships

  • The Good Path
    Mar 14 2022

The world is constantly showing our kids what “The Good Life” is and what it looks like. It’s a life filled with pleasures and earthly materials, but as followers of Jesus, he shows us another path, the “GOOD PATH” or the narrow path.

We must direct our children to this good path, and show them what it means to be righteous, set apart, and above reproach.

    DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
    1. How can I direct my kids to the good path?
    2. Are there areas in my life that I need to seek God’s Righteousness?
    3. What fruits of the Spirit do my kids see in my life?
    4. What are some ways this week that I can lead in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control?

    Hosts:
    Calvin Redden, Central Youth Pastor
    Zach Woods, Central Kids Pastor

  • Worship Watchers
    Mar 7 2022

Truth is, we all worship something, but as good guides we need to be showing the young people in our lives what it looks like to be full hearted worshippers of God.

Disciples don’t just follow Jesus, they must also learn to worship Jesus. It is our responsibility to pass on the baton of praise to the next generation.

    DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
    1. Have I ever explained to my kids what worship is?
    2. What or who do my kids see me worship?
    3. What are some ways I can make my home into a place of worship and praise?
    4. Are there changes I need to make to show my kids the right way to worship?

  • Be Careful Little Eyes
    Feb 28 2022

Technology is all around us and with it comes a lot of temptation. Distraction, explicit content, and wickedness are more easily accessible today than any generation before us.

How can we ensure that our kids aren't being exposed to things that are impacting them in the wrong ways?

    DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
    1. How can I be more careful when it comes to the things I let my child see?
    2. Do I find myself too relaxed when it comes to things I allow in my home? (social media, apps, etc..)
    3. What steps can I take to remove wickedness from the eyes of my children?
    4. When I’m not around to monitor my child, will they choose to look at good things?
