About this listen

Trauma, Tacos y True Crime is a Spanglish true crime podcast hosted by La Dama del Desmadre—a half-Mexican, half-Nicaraguan mom of five with a dark sense of humor and a lot to say. Each episode explores true crime stories, missing women, power, silence, and survival—alongside motherhood chaos, cultural commentary, and humor that cuts through the heaviness. This is not a therapy podcast. There are no glow-ups, no fixing women, and no pretending healing has to look pretty. Just real stories, honest conversations, and laughing when life makes no sense. New episodes drop starting December 31!La Dama Del Desmadre True Crime

  • BONUS EPISODE - The Tupperware Heist - Inside Job
    Jan 10 2026

If you’ve ever loaned someone a container and never saw it again… welcome.

Today I’m venting about the lost Tupperware epidemic, why it triggers something deep in my body, and how being a mom of five means I don’t have time to replace the good ones. Funny, petty, and way too real.

  • The Watts Case: The "Perfect Family" Lie
    Jan 7 2026

Content warning: domestic violence, murder, child victims, pregnancy loss, emotional/graphic topics.

Hola hola, locas y locos — it’s La Dama del Desmadre from Trauma, Tacos & True Crime.

Today we’re in Frederick, Colorado (August 2018) for the Watts case — a story that looked “picture perfect” online… and turned out to be a whole DAMN MASK. The kind where everybody wants the highlight reel, but nobody wants the truth.

We’re breaking down the timeline, the public plea, the moments that made people’s stomachs drop, and how fast the “perfect family” story fell apart in real time. And yes — we’re going to talk about the uncomfortable part: how appearances, control, and ego can hide in plain sight… until they don’t.

Quick disclaimer so nobody tries to sue me because they got emotional: I’m not your therapist, I’m not your doctor, and I’m not diagnosing nobody. This is not medical advice. Relax. Breathe. And if you hear kids in the background good. That means everybody’s alive. This is MY HOME not a recording studio.

At the end we’re doing our grounding comfort food moment — because this case is heavy, and we don’t just listen to trauma and pretend we’re fine.

If you or someone you love is in danger, please reach out to local emergency services or a domestic violence hotline in your area.

  • Jennifer Kesse - Her Absence Was Loud
    Dec 31 2025

Episode 1: Jennifer Kesse — Her Absence Was Loud

Jennifer Kesse was 24 years old. Independent, organizada, and building her life in Orlando. New condo. New routine. New chapter.

Then on the morning of January 24, 2006, she left for work…

    And she never arrived.

In this episode, we walk through the timeline that raised alarms fast, the car that showed up like it was trying to disappear in plain sight, and the surveillance footage that still haunts people because somehow, every time the “person of interest” passes the camera… the face is blocked.

And of course… This ain't medical advice, RELAX—because cases like this don’t just live in your mind. They hit your nervous system. That uneasy “oh hell not…” feeling? You’re not crazy. Your body clocks patterns before your brain finishes the sentence.

Content note: This episode includes true crime, disappearance, trauma themes, and dark humor (porque así sobrevivimos). If you’re feeling activated, pause and protect your peace. Este episodio estará aquí cuando estés lista.
