  • A Quota for Quotas_ Exploring Arrest Goals Under the One Big Beautiful Bill
    Jan 26 2026
“One Big Beautiful Bill,” or OBBB, that reshaped immigration enforcement in the United States. Today, we’re diving deeper into one of its most controversial aspects: the daily arrest quotas imposed on immigration enforcement, and what that means for individuals and communities across the nation. When the OBBB was signed into law on July 4, 2025, it allocated a staggering $170 billion to enhance border security and immigration enforcement. Initially, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, was given a daily arrest quota of 1,800. Fast forward to May 2025, and that number skyrocketed to 3,000—as if that wasn’t enough, the administration's border czar, Tom Homan, has proposed raising the quotas to an astonishing 7,000 arrests per day. That leaves many asking: What does this mean for the people caught in the crossfire?

  • Massive ICE Enforcement_ A Deep Dive into the Surge and Its Implications
    Jan 26 2026
"One Big Beautiful Bill" signed by President Trump back in July 2025.
This bill was touted as a sweeping reform of our immigration system, funneling a substantial amount of funding into the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE for short. You might be asking what this means on the ground. Well, part of the plan involved hiring 10,000 new officers and ramping up detention facilities to accommodate up to 100,000 individuals. This sure sounds like a hefty agenda.
One of the most striking proposals to emerge from this policy overhaul comes from Tom Homan, the appointed "border czar". Homan, a key figure in the administration, pushed for raising the daily arrest quotas for ICE agents from around 3,000 to a staggering 7,000. That’s an increase of about 133%—a shift that could potentially lead to over 1.2 million arrests in just one year! It’s no wonder this idea has sparked heated debates across the country.
On one side of the argument, supporters believe that these increased quotas are essential.

  • I’m Tired of Arresting Gardeners — A Shift in Priorities
    Jan 26 2026
U.S. federal law enforcement, particularly focusing on how agencies like the FBI and ICE are reassigning agents from critical criminal investigations to immigration enforcement. Today, we’ll dive deeper into the implications of this shift, hear from those affected, and better understand the community's concerns about transparency and accountability.
Let’s set the stage with some eye-opening statistics. Did you know that nearly 3,000 agents from the FBI have been reassigned to immigration enforcement? That’s right—approximately 23% of the FBI's total workforce is now focused on immigration duties, and in major cities, that number skyrockets to over 40%. With such a significant reorganization of resources, what do we lose in the process? Former agents have voiced their outrage. One veteran remarked how infuriating it is, stating, "No drug cases, no human trafficking, no child exploitation." These critical issues, which once were at the forefront of the FBI’s mission, now risk being sidelined as agents focus on meeting deportation quotas.
