I’m reintroducing my show with a name that landed like a clear instruction: Turn Up Your Light. If you’ve felt the pressure of becoming, the quiet knowing that you’re meant for more, or the exhaustion of trying to “figure yourself out,” this conversation offers a different frame. I’m Reverend Joya, a sound medicine woman, and I’m setting a simple promise from the start: you’ll hear me, in my real human voice, because frequency matters and presence can’t be outsourced.

We move from that foundation into the deeper question that has followed me since childhood: why does a seed carry a complete blueprint for its fullest expression, yet humans doubt their own design? I share the seed metaphor as a way to understand purpose, free will, and spiritual growth without forcing a neat answer. Your life is your spiritual curriculum, and you discover your truest path by walking it, not by demanding the final destination up front. When you choose alignment with love, light, and truth, your system responds with expansion: more clarity, peace, joy, and kindness that doesn’t rely on shame or harm.

Then we get practical about what it really takes to “turn up your light” in daily life, relationships, business, and community. I talk about metacognition, heart opening through forgiveness, and nervous system safety, because insight alone isn’t enough if your body doesn’t feel safe to expand. We end with a Good Friday and resurrection weekend reflection and a simple receiving practice you can do immediately to increase your capacity to accept, receive, and embody more light and love.
