About this listen

This is about the people in your neighborhood. You know, the ones you tend to ignore for the most part. Believe it or not, they have some interesting stories to tell. We're in the part of Dallas that lies North by Northwest, ignored by the rest. Hey, we're used to that and it's kind of a badge we all wear with honor. Life here is as smooth as the roads we drive on. UNeasy Street is reality – real neighbors with real issues and hopes. It's about how life around Dallas is shaped by experiences inside our small square blocks. We talk about things you might not know and the people near you that you couldn't care less about ... until now.2025 Michael A. Cintron Politics & Government Social Sciences

  • Promo: The night we were wiped ONTO the map
    May 20 2020

On October 20, 2019 at approximately 9:00pm, Northwest Dallas and other parts were struck by an EF-3 tornado. Damage was inconsistent with some structures hardly showing any signs of being affected, while other homes and buildings were completely destroyed. This all happened within blocks of each other. Much as been written and said about what happened, but little about how we who were affected directly, felt (and still do) about it. This conversation aims to take us there.

  • Author, NW Dallas Resident, Lee Swift
    Apr 21 2020

Author Lee Swift changed his life a few years ago. Bored in a well-paying corporate job, he took a gamble. He became the author he had sought to be and hasn't looked back. Has it been a breeze? No. Of course not. There have been some tough career lessons learned, but one thing is certain: what's possible is up to you more often than you think.

As we ponder our lives after COVID-19 lockdown and what the world will look like in the coming months, many of us wonder if we can really make the changes that matter in our lives. We might not have a choice.
