  • National Gallery
    Aug 30 2024

Join hosts Catherine Peters and Jade Livesey as they interview the National Gallery's artist educator Chloe Cooke and Sadegh Aleahmad.

Chloe and Sadegh will be heading to Blackpool in September on the National Gallery's Art Road Trip, to host a series of creative workshops, inspired by the flower paintings of Dutch painter, Rachel Ruysch (1664 – 1750).

They will be joined by artists Nerissa Cargill Thompson, Joseph Doubtfire, and Lizza Lane, and will be asking the question 'What does it mean to live a creative life?'

    Visitors will be able to:

    • Explore a botanical laboratory with handmade specimens
    • Craft their own faux terrariums
    • Create floral artworks in virtual reality
    • Learn to make floral arrangements with symbolic meaning that speak a language of their own

The travelling art studio will pop up at various locations across Blackpool, inviting everyone to join in the fun. With sessions running from 10am and 3pm daily, there’s no need to book – simply drop in at any time and get involved! Free to everyone, all ages welcome.
