This episode is inspired by the Medium article written by Bryan Gee and Yara Haridy, which documented their 6 year struggle with their graduate advisor at the University of Toronto. They faced sexual harassment, racism, bullying, and verbal abuse whilst entering an uphill battle to get their academic institution to act on these issues.

Whilst they address their letter to the science of Paleontology, the issues they encountered are very familiar across all institutions
