Ram Singh Pathania was born on 10 April 1824. His father was the minister of the king of Nurpur. After the death of the king, the British tried to grab Nurpur under the Doctrine of Lapse law as his son was a minor merely for a petty sum of five thousand Rupees which was not approved by Wazir Ramsingh Pathania. He gathered forces and revolted against the British. The British conspired against Ramsingh and arrested him when he went for his ritual worship on a particular day, all alone and unarmed. He was sent to Rangoon unmercifully tortured. He achieved Martyrdom on November 11, 1849, just at the age of 24.
