About this listen
In this tenth instalment of I'm Noticing, certain shifts are becoming more apparent as we notice our systems adapting to the process of how we are relating, and some of the ways that our parts are expressing unmet needs, or strategies we are noticing to meet these needs.
P.S. if you're not familiar with SMART Goals:
Specific - clear about what you intend to do (e.g. spend time journaling)
Measurable - clear about what would constitute achievement (e.g. for 30 minutes, 3x weekly)
Achievable - something that is reasonably within your capacity to achieve
Relevant - relevance to the underlying issue you are seeking to address (e.g. lacking consistency, clarity)
Timely - something that will be a priority (e.g. will be completed this week)
Put it together, "I intend to journal for 30 minutes, three times this week, to address the concerns of a part of me that feels overwhelmed by insights/connections, and would like for me to help create some calm and clarity for it."
The overarching intention of this process is to consistently bring more connecting language to our descriptions of our systems and communicate in a way that facilitates fluidity with our noticings.
This is also an experiment in editing and producing a podcast! In keeping with the intentions of the container, I have specifically challenged my own perfectionism by just putting the episode out without spending lots of time tinkering with minor details, learning the whole suite of editing tricks, worrying about titles and descriptions, etc. I hope you'll be forgiving along this journey as I learn to do a better job producing!
