About this listen

Where do you look to find humanity? What is the purpose of creation? How can we find our place within or beyond technology’s reach? Questions start conversations. Answers end them. This podcast takes the quest in questions to explore the infinitude of human experience by welcoming guests to discuss what arises for them when asked seven strategically open questions from the book, ’Which Way Is North: A Creative Compass for Makers, Marketers, and Mystics” by author and host, Will Cady. Join for conversations with artists, entrepreneurs, cultural leaders, mothers, fathers, authors, models, speakers, strategists, and good human beings who are each given the opportunity to choose their identity: speak their truth underneath their given name or stretch out behind the anonymity of an archetypal name. Which of these do you suppose yields a conversation with more humanity? Listen and decide for yourself. Learn more at willcady.comCopyright 2025 All rights reserved. Art Economics Social Sciences

  • Episode 10: Bob Guccione Jr
    Feb 19 2026

Good writing is about having a perspective. Great writing is about taking a journey that shows how a perspective can change. That's why the word 'journey' is at the heart of 'journalism'.

Hear from the perspective of writer, publisher, editor, and cultural figure, Bob Guccione Jr who ran some of the biggest print magazines of the 1990s and found himself at the center of all manner of controversy in the process.

Listen for how Bob speaks on the importance of knowing how to disagree, how to debate, how to be in the discourse of what shapes our culture. It's a perspective we need to learn from today.

  • Episode 8: Contraction is a Form of Expansion
    Jan 16 2026

The funny thing about being born is that we humans...are not ready.

Yet, every aspect of what makes an infant human so uniquely vulnerable compared to others in the animal kingdom leads to the very strengths that make us human.

Contraction is the operating concept of birth. This episode is a meditation on the concept of contraction as expansion following my experience of becoming a parent, specifically a father and husband to a now mother and daughter.

This marks a return to new episodes of the Which Way Is North podcast after having a wonderful reason to take an absence.
