Psalm 139, 2 Corinthians 1, John 3:16, and Colossians 1, highlight three truths:
- God knows you completely.
- God loves you deeply.
- God has rescued you and given you a new identity in His kingdom.
Darkness is simply living without this knowledge, and understanding who God is leads to understanding who we are. Bonhoeffer’s poem “Who Am I?” affirms that, no matter our inner questions, our identity is secure in God.
