  • Austrian Wine Time: Peter Szigeti, Gols
    May 2 2024

Markus Steigler and Peter Szigeti join Cork & Fork for an introduction to their famous Szigeti sparkling wines. Szigeti was part of the new wave of Austrian sparkling wine producers in the 1990s who focused on high-quality, traditional method Sekt. The company began in 1991 when Peter Szigeti took over the family business in the village of Gols. Peter Szigeti has made it his most important task to capture the varietal characteristics of the grape varieties in his products. He aimed to create pure indulgence with every glass of Szigeti sparkling wine. That is why Peter Szigeti and his cellar master spend a lot of time in the vineyards of our partners and suppliers. This ensures that the grapes meet the highest quality standards and that their typical varietal character will eventually characterize the sparkling wine.
