    May 28 2026

Rob Guillory & John Layman join me to talk a new project coming to Kickstarter! The team behind Chew is back, and they’re coming out swinging! The last time John Layman, the WildStorm editor who ended up writing for all the big publishers while firing off indie hits like Outer Darkness and Leviathan, and Rob Guillory, the mastermind cartoonist behind Mosely and Farmhand, got together, they crafted the Harvey, multiple-Eisner award winning, NYT best-selling comic series CHEW.

  • Jim Zub Talks Conan - Tides of the Tyrant King!!
    May 22 2026

Jim Zub joins us to talk about the latest crossover coming out of Free Comic Book Day - Conan - Tides of the Tyrant King From the team at Kabooooom.com Those who have been reading the current Conan the Barbarian series from Titan Comics and Heroic Signatures will be on familiar footing here. Titan has used Free Comic Book Day to kick off Conan-themed crossovers over the past few years. The crossovers, in this case, involve other characters created by Robert E. Howard.

And in the case of Tides of the Tyrant King, the story this time involves Stephen Costigan – a character easily confused with Howard’s more famous Sailor Steve Costigan, who headlined more of his stories than any character save Conan. Zub establishes Conan and Costigan as warriors who share a spirit, despite the undreamed ages that lie between them. The battlefields of Zingara and France blur as the two men fight and both show the same crude chivalry toward the women who tend their wounds.

Yet the two men are similarly connected by an evil that touches both their lives across time and space… Join us live as we discuss!

  • Westside Volume 1 Deep Dive: Why This Comic Matters Right Now
    May 22 2026

From the creative minds behind ©alifornia, Inc., the powerhouse indie team returns with a gripping new crime saga. Writer Justin Giampaoli (Rome West, Starship Down), illustrator Dave Law (Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Space Odditorium, Wolf Punks), and Studio 12-7 publisher and variant cover artist Arthur N. Ebuen (The Simpsons, Futurama, Systemic) invite you into the world of Westside.

Back here! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/artebuen/westside-volume-1?ref=discovery&term=westside&total_hits=47&category_id=250#h:CREATIVE-TEAM This 52-page neo-noir crime drama plunges readers into a volatile crossroads where race relations, car culture, and crime collide. Drawing from deeply personal, autobiographical roots, Westside: Volume 1 is both a hard-hitting crime story and a haunting elegy to Justin’s hometown in California’s Central Valley. Bringing the world to life is veteran indie artist Dave Law, whose bold black and white storytelling is layered with dramatic ink washes, and creates a stark, atmospheric landscape where every conversation hides a secret and every choice has consequences.

If you’re a fan of the slow-burn tension of HBO’s The Wire or the gritty crime comics of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, Westside: Volume 1 will feel right at home on your shelf. Think True Detective, but set in the sun-bleached streets of California’s Central Valley.
