About this listen

Hi, I’m Rhian Mannings and welcome to my podcast, You, Me and the Elephant in the Room. In 2012, my husband Paul and son George died suddenly and for the last 8 years I have been trying to rebuild my life. Every day I receive a message from someone asking how, and if, they will survive this overwhelming pain. I talk about my own experiences, but everyone is so different, and their grief is unique to them. That is why I decided to do a series of podcasts talking to other people who have experienced a bereavement and to find out how they coped with their loss. In this series, I will be chatting to other parents who faced the unimaginable heartbreak when their son or daughter died suddenly. As the CEO and Founder of the bereavement charity 2wish (previously 2 Wish Upon a Star) I have had the privilege of meeting so many amazing mums and dads whose world were turned upside down in the blink of an eye. I am sure the conversations that follow will involve tears and at times may be difficult to listen to. However, I know we will also smile when discussing treasured memories.Copyright 2020 All rights reserved. Hygiene & Healthy Living Psychology Psychology & Mental Health Relationships Social Sciences
