Sie ist zusammen mit ihrem Partner Max Joni und auch solo in den Clubs der Stadt unterwegs und spielt international in Thailand, der Schweiz und der Türkei. She has had a deep relationship with music since being in her mother's womb working at Café Opera in Stockholm. Every 5 years Robine found herself moving to a different city and it was a special encounter at Amsterdam Dance Event that let her move to Berlin. With a background in tech and working at Spotify, she eventually found her way to producing music. Fast forward to today, she has produced for EIN2 and is a regular act at Berlin clubs such as Kater Blau, Ritter Butzke, and Sisyphos. She is also part of the collectives Variety and Beschäftigungstherapie. Für die 14. Betterlizzen Podcast-Folge habe ich mich mit DAS MAER getroffen. Die elektronische Indie Band besteht aus dem Sänger Jonas und den beiden Produzenten und DJs Georg und Yannek. Uns verbindet Freundschaft und Musik tatsächlich schon einige Jahre, aber da 2022 mit der Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Albums "Momoko" ein sehr besonderes für sie ist, wurde schnell klar, dass wir jetzt viel Gesprächs- und Musikstoff für eine gemeinsame Podcast-Episode haben. Wir erfahren, wie sich das Trio einst kennengelernt hat, welche Ausreißer es in der Albumproduktion gab und wo es für sie mal hingehen soll. Getting to know these people on a level that's never been done before…" This is how John Johnson describes the concept for his exciting forthcoming ICONYC TV Netflix series and it's exactly how this podcast feels. My first episode of 2022, it's a truly unique and inspiring story of a man with such a strong sense of creative ambition it's taken him around the world and back again.

John's epic journey began with a passion for techno in early 90s Frankfurt and led to years of international touring and DJing throughout the 90s and early 2000s. After a departure to focus on his health and other interests such as fashion and studying a doctorate in business studies, he returned to the music game five years ago to launch ICONYC Music. A media company that lives up to its name, ICONYC now boasts TV series for Red Bull, the first ever Bitwig music academy and the aforementioned documentary series on the world's biggest streaming platform 'Netflix' that will launch next year.

These are just some of the highlights in this intriguing and revealing conversation I had with John, a usually private individual whose experiences remind us that life is what we make it and that the best things often come to us in ways we least expect them to. John explains how music is emotion, life and a language and he believes we are all iconic in our own special way. This interview is definitely iconic.
