About this listen

“here’s the dill, pickle” is a podcast for real people having real thoughts about real life. this show lives at the intersection of mindset, motherhood, entrepreneurship, love, hope, faith, humor, and the everyday mental gymnastics we all have to perform on a daily basis. some episodes start as voice memos. some turn into deep reflections. some are funny, some are tender, some are both, and some might include a little spontaneous singing. no scripts. no polish. just honest thoughts, fresh perspective, and large dose of the real dill, pickle.Kylie Evans Social Sciences

  • plot twist: it's vulnerability (shed your shame, find your freedom)
    Jan 20 2026

what if the thing you’ve been avoiding isn’t the problem—it’s the solution?

in this episode, i’m talking about vulnerability as a strength, not a weakness—and how shedding shame has been the fastest way through some of the hardest seasons of my life.

i share why naming the quiet fears, releasing the shame around them, and telling the truth (to yourself and others) can instantly create space for clarity, connection, and momentum. not because everything magically fixes itself—but because honesty changes how you move forward.

this isn’t about oversharing or breaking down. it’s about choosing courage, letting go of what no longer needs to be carried, and discovering the freedom that shows up when you stop pretending you’re fine.

plot twist: it was vulnerability all along.

  • do you really have to love yourself first?
    Jan 13 2026

we’ve all heard it: you have to fully love yourself before you can love someone else.

    but… do you though?

in this episode, i talk through why humans are always in relationship (even when we pretend we’re “working on ourselves”), why connection isn’t something you earn after becoming magically complete, and how depriving ourselves of love might actually do the opposite of what we think it does.

i wonder out loud whether we sometimes learn how to love ourselves *through* other people, and if closing ourselves off in the name of self-growth might be a slightly dangerous game.

    this isn’t anti–self love.

it’s just me questioning whether becoming whole was ever meant to be a solo project.

  • gotta have faith (not the george michael song)
    Jan 6 2026

before we begin: no, this episode is not about the george michael song.

and yes, i do mean george michael the singer — not the character from arrested development.

this one is about keeping the faith.

not in a performative way. not in a “have it all figured out” way.

but in the quiet, everyday sense of trusting that things always work out — even when you don’t know when or how.

this episode is about letting go of control, releasing the need for certainty, and remembering that the proof isn’t in the timing.

    it’s in the pattern.

    because faith doesn’t require certainty.
it just asks you to keep going.
