Der 9. November 1989 ist in der deutschen Geschichte ein besonderer Tag. Julia, Maria und Tom werden an diesem Tag in Frankfurt am Main, Greifswald und Ost-Berlin geboren. Vor zwölf Jahren hat sie unser Reporter Christian Bollert schon einmal kurz vor ihrem 18. Geburtstag getroffen und hat sie jetzt kurz vor ihrem 30. Geburtstag wiedergetroffen.

Nel 1985 prende il potere in Urss un gruppo riformatore dalla volontà chiara ma dalle idee confuse. La prima è figlia della consapevolezza dell'innegabile degrado del sistema sovietico. Le seconde, generate invece dall'arretratezza e dal provincialismo culturali, sono però compensate da un alto profilo morale, simboleggiato dalla rinuncia a usare la forza.
