Am Pfingstsonntag erscheint in Altenmoos, einem Bauerndorf im obersteirischen Gebirge, der Bauer Knatschel am Hof seines Nachbarn Jakob Steinreuter vulgo Reuthofer und erzählt, dass er seinen Hof dem "Kampelherrn", einem Industrie-Millionär, für 2000 Gulden verkauft habe.
