Rob Paulsen is one of Hollywood's busiest and most passionate performers. If you don't know him by name, you will know him by the many characters he has brought to life: Pinky from Pinky and the Brain and Yakko from Animaniacs, Raphael from the original animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many more. So, you can imagine how terrifying it must have been when Rob was diagnosed with throat cancer, putting his entire livelihood in jeopardy and threatening to rob the world of all his loveable characters that filled our youth and adulthood with humor and delight.

Many people grapple with destructive thought processes or a "critical inner voice" that directs their behavior and, to varying degrees, limits their lives. Using deeply personal and very human stories based on his own clinical practice, noted psychologist Robert W. Meine Lieben, das Buch, das ich euch vorlese, wurde vor etwa sechzehn Jahren unter dem Titel Doppel-Ich veröffentlicht. Es war eine Auftragsarbeit für das Gütersloher Verlagshaus. Der Verlag war durch meine Talkshow "Guildo und seine Gäste" auf mein zerklüftetes Treiben im pädagogischen Kontext aufmerksam geworden. Bestellt wurde ein Buch über meinen Ansatz zum Thema Inklusion. Ich habe das Ganze dann in einen autobiografischen Roman gepackt und bin dafür in Bereiche meiner Vergangenheit vorgedrungen, die mich zum Teil vor mir selbst erschaudern ließen.
