Un "Acte Juste" est d'abord, selon la définition donnée au Camp des Milles, un acte de résistance ou de réaction contre une situation de discrimination, d'injustice ou de persécution. C'est un acte désintéressé, individuel ou collectif, pouvant être apparemment anodin, voire passif, violent ou héroïque et destiné à aider autrui ou à combattre une situation inacceptable. Au Camp des Milles, on montre que dans tous les génocides, il y a eu des gens très divers, de tous âges, de toutes conditions, de toutes origines.
